I just got a 99 with 80k and I paid $18.4. It had fairly new run flats on the rear, but the fronts were almost gone. It also included a bumper to bumper warranty until 110k or 30 months.
Definitely take a look at the tires. If you are planning on replacing with runflats, you can spend $1500 on a set of four easily.
Even though I haven't had mine long, I did a lot of research, I think the mileage isn't a huge issue, depending on how much you're planning on driving it. The car I bought does have a bad oil pressure sensor, which I am getting replaced under warranty.
The only thing I would be scared of is if it has active handling and the ECBM goes bad. I have seen members on the forum reporting repair prices upwards of $3000.
I have a '99 Z51-A4 (Performance Handling package and Automatic) coupe with 115,000. It is my daily driver. I have to park it outside under a cover, because my garage is full with a '62 vette, and a '95 ZR-1. This car has run great, even after being abused by my teenage son and his friend. (They would do donuts and race it against ricers). I change the oil regularly, have done 3 complete tire changes, recently reupholstered and changed out the original shocks with Bilsteins. I recently replaced the "glass" top, because I live in FL and with the outside storage, the top was worn.
BTW I forgot to change the spark plugs until 100 K miles.
It runs great, even after being stored outside, it looks great. I get a lot of complements.
I think it drives better, smoother than my ZR-1. It performs just as well at speeds under 70 mph. Obiously the ZR-1 runs better at speeds over 100 mph.
On the highway driving long distance, I will routinely drive it around 90 mph. It is a beautiful car.
I am in a financial position to buy a new C6, but I thought about it and asked myself: Why?
I love this car, I call her "Midnight" it is dark blue, and will keep her indefinitely.
If the car you are looking at is in great shape, with a non-derogatory Carfax, 19 K is a great price.
Being a 2000 with 85K miles, it was moderately used if you use 12K miles as the average annual mileage. Have it checked by a competent mechanic though.
