Try to clear the codes through the DIC and if it still comes back or reads an H (history) all the time, you may have the same issue I did. I had to replace the EBCM module on my Z a few months back. All is well now. Good Luck!
Mike
First thing you'll want to do is pull the codes and see WHICH part of the system is giving an error. Could be as simple as a sensor or as fatal as the EBCM (which is REAL easy to replace and is documented in the FAQ - #8 I think). No point in guessing when the car will tell you what's wrong with it.
Hey guys thanks for the info..EBCM????....I hope i can get it at the dealer here.
Back last NOV 2005, the car hit the railing at the drag strip and messed up the front right and rear right rims as well as the guards.
Now the car is all better
I thought the sensors for the ABS might have caused the warning lights. Appreciate the help..BTW the car ran 11.9/119mph....
Is it throwing code C1214? If so check all the ground and the connection to be the EBCM. If you clean them all and it still throws the code. You will have to replace it.
I was getting service abs, service traction control, and service active handling messages. Took it to Chevy and they told me I need a new EBCM. It was just replaced today, all seems well. My car is out of warranty, so it hurt the bank account a bit. Oh well, I still love the car!!
im goingot check that also on mine
mine does it once in a while when i turn the car on
then i turn it off and then back on and the lights are off
so i hope it is a groiund wire

Ok did anyone have the TRAC control not working completely? My switich is dead? I have not had a chance to go to GM dealer here.
How much $$$$ is the ECBM?.......
I can live with the ABS out, but the warining lights are a pain.
Also, I just seviced the car.
How do you reset the " service needed soon" every timme the car is turned on? and how do you reset the OIL QTY %....It has new OIL, but the sensor has not put it back to 100% like it used too ?????

I picked up a new EBCM from Fred Beans Chevy for $610, my local dealer wanted $975 for just the part!! Also, when you reset the oil %, do not turn the engine on, just turn the key to the on position and reset it from there. That should do the trick.

Ok thanks for the oil qty reset instruction.
just had my car at the local GM dealer and they did not do squat.....they wanted me to get the old exhaust and take off my LG headers..so they could get a O2 sensor reading.
I told them just check the EBCM...They did not know what that was...NOW I AM WORRIED!!!.$55 FOR THE CAR GONE ALL DAY AND NOTHING DONE.... BY THE SOUND OF IT I NEED TO CHECK THE EBCM CONNECTORS AND TAKE IT FORM THERE.....

Check all the grounds and clean them. Also check and clean the EBCM connector.
If it's throwing the code 1214 you will most likely end up replacing the EBCM. Directions are in the FAQ (#8 post) and it's so easy to do the stealership should be shot for asking more than a half hour labor for the job.
Thanks guys for the new EBcM info...
If the 1214 code comes up again, I guess I need the new EBCM..
The worst thing is these stealerships make out they know what they're doing.....and then have the ***** to charge $70 per hour to diagnose absolutely nothing....
