Default chrome hoops installed

i just installed a set of chrome hoops in my 2000 vette. The problem i have is that i am not happy with how the carpet is finished around the hoops. I cut the rug nice but it dont look finished....

Anyone have any ideas to finsih this installation off like a pro??

pictures and vendor names would help with my search.

...I think I've seen a plastic ring of some sort that covers the carpeting around the hoops. Maybe someone here has a pic of their installation......Good luck....

You can get the rings at Home Depot or Lowes. They are for plummbing use, I think to go around Shower faucets. They are either called a chrome trim ring od beauty ring, its been a couple of years and my memory isn't what it use to be.They are split and fit around the hoop at the carpet. You may have to trim it a little to make it fit better. I'll post a picture of mine when I get home. Hope this helps.

They are made from plastic, not metal. Easy to trim to fit.

If you want to replace the carpet and start from scratch I can tell you the technique for cutting the carpet for exact placement.
Once you have you bars are in place create a template with an exact diameter of the bar cut in it.
Place a cut in the template so it can fit around the bar.
Make the template about 10 inches long and fold in half.
You will need four separate templates.
Place each of the four templates around the bars and tape down the back extension of the template.
Fold back the templates and remove the bars.
Reinstall the carpet to be cut fold back the templates and trace your circles.
Remove the carpet and cut holes.
Replaced the bars and notch the carpet so it will go back in place.

Default carpet fit

Either take the car or the carpet to an upholstery shop and have them sew trim around the bars.
