I have a little bit of experience here. I actually got suckered into buying a B1 system off of ebay. The only difference is the filter (according to the people at vararam). I just ordered the new green foam filter to replace the old gray foam filter. There is a slight modification to make the new filter fit but they said a monkey could do it! Hope that helps!

The B2 I think drains water better, did you check the vararam web site, i think it explains the difference,

It is my understanding that the B2 has an improved water trough system that helps dissipate any incoming water more effectively than the B1.....
The B2 was originally sold with the same foam filter as the B1.
Both can be retrofitted with either of the two new cloth filters. Which one you buy is determined by whether you want to trim your air tubes or not.
