Default Stolden Corvettes Buried

It seems that a number of stolden corvettes along with other makes of cars in Colorado where striped and then buried. Here are just a few pictures.

They stripped the body panels but left the engine and wheels/tires intact?? Those are some of the most expensive parts. I bet the whole drivetrain is there as well. Doesn't make any sense but then again, crime is always senseless.

It looks like the tires and rims are in good shape. Hell, the engine might still turnover too (after hitting it with compressed air and a water hose)!

sidenote: hmmmmm ... same thought process and hitting submit at the same time ...

Wheels and tires would be very easy to sell

I recall reading something awhile back about Dever, CO and how many thousands (can't remember the exact amount but it was high) of cars are stolen there every year. Their Police Dept. doesn't even investigate car theft. Pretty sad on both accounts!

This for real? Seems more dirt would/could have fallen out of the interior during transport than that. Also agree w/ others that don't strippers usually go for easy stuff too?

This the only one they found?

That makes no sense at all. I would tend to believe that insurance fraud played a part here. Nobody, even the dumb criminals would take a few parts and bury the car. Too much work, why not just ditch it. Someone wanted to hide it for a very long time. I'd be talking to the owner...

People are always getting wheels/tires stolen, but this one gets buried with them. It doesn't make much sense.
