So I'm changing the serpentine belts on the vette this morning when I go under the car to make sure they are aligned properly on the crank pulley when I noticed a bolt missing. One of the leaf spring brackets is missing a bolt. The other bolt reads MF 10.9. Could I find a replacement bolt in a hardware store?
I have another, unralated, question. The bracket that holds the swaybar bushing seems to be traveling back and foward enough to "cut" into the metal frame where is mounted. The shafing is not really too bad but I'm not sure if that is normal.
MF 10.9 means a Metric bolt. My Ace hardware has some metric stuff. But you might be better off to go to an auto parts store. They will have the correct GRADE of Metric of bolt for you. The hardware store my only have hardware grade bolts. Not normal, there should be no movement of "metal on metal". Sounds like the bolts are loose. Tighten them up.
