First time to track
I am getting pretty anxious for my first ever trip to the track to lay down some passes. Recently had some mods done (LG street headers, stealth cam, CAI) and want to see the "before and after " times prior to dyno tuning. We flashed the pcm to stock and will be getting a dyno tune in about two weeks. The car is running great after putting on about 400 mi after the mods but expect to more after the tune. OK.. so I am looking for hints, suggestions, techniques, etc. for a decent pass (i.e. launching, throttle, gear switching, etc.). Everyone had there first run, just looking for a little more fun...
thx.

These might seem obvious but I'll say them anyway. Roll windows up, turn A/C off.
Take all the crap in your trunk out. The less weight the better.
Dont ever run with a full tank of gas. I usually go with a 1/4 tank of gas & put about a gallon of race fuel in the car.
If you're running on street tires then drop PSI in rear & front tires to about 22 give or take. Take a Tire guage with you. If you're running on ET Streets which are my preference then drop pressure to about 18/19 PSI
Watch others run before you do. See which track hooks better then get in that lane.
When you get in line, move up very slowly till you get to the 2nd light.
When you get lined up & you see that 3rd yellow light........floor it. Dont wait for it to turn green or you'll be looking at the rear of the other car if they have a good reaction time.
That's all I can think of right now. If you can have a friend video tape you racing then you can go back & see what you did. Learn from your mistakes. Have fun & hope that nothing breaks
With those mods you should put up decent #'s provided you're not spinning 1/2 way down the track like I was on my 1st run.

dont launch the car at anything above 1500 RPMs because you will just spin on street tires.
roll into the throttle, you can NOT just floor the car because you will spin, and your time will suck.
just something that will take lots of practice!!! good luck, and most of all... have fun!
