well mine have been wahsed BUT
I own AND DRIVE a 64 72 76 79 & 98 Corvettes NONE are daily drivers however..

BUT I just asked my wife if she could remember the last time I actually washed one ...Her best guess was 3 years ago in Bowling Green after we ran thru a rain
storm and the car stayed outside ...

I dust each car off and go over it with a detailing spray BEFORE I leave the garage..and do the same when I come home...(I have two lifts so even at 62 it is no big deal to raise the car up to eye level...LOL)

When I do run into rain...I do the same thing EXCEPT
I hit the underside and wheel wells with WD40 and wipe the frame off etc...

I admit that I buy Detailer by the gallon..and keep a
rubbermaid container full of clean micro fiber rags all
the time handy in the garage

Takes less then 5 minutes to dust then hit the car with detailer...and I gave up covering them years ago
when they are in the garage...

I drive the car, but it cleans up real nice. Glad I could make you feel better!

That's why I took a picture of it before cleaning it up... just so I could have a "real dirty" picture of my vette.

My car is not a DD and it never goes out in the rain. I did get caught once in a freak little rain storm for about a mile.... But anyway, I clean mine whenever something gets on it that I don't like...and since I have a triple black car, that's a lot. To remove surface dust and keep the shine in between washes, I use a California Duster and Nano Wax detailer and those two do a beautiful job. Yes, I drive the car, but only when I want to! And I, like many others, only take pictures of my car when it's clean.

Since this is a confession thread, my C5 ain't perfect. It is a semi-daily driver, but since I work in Africa, it is not a work car. (My wife drives the wheels off of it when I am gone though) I do try to keep it looking very nice however. I usually wash it weekly when I am home, and I wax it about 3-4 times a year. I have a lot of free time when I am home though. I actually enjoy taking car of my car, but since it is black it is discouraging at times because it seems to get dirty very quickly. Mine is not a show car, it has some inperfections, but I love to drive it when it is shined up...

The best thing to do is just to drive the darn thing and enjoy it... even if it ain't perfect.

I agree that most of us never take pictures of the cars when they aren't looking their best. Look at it this way - would you have someone take a picture of you right after you rolled out of the sack....hair going every which way, needing a shave and a shower? Only Tony Soprano can pull that off - walking around in a ratty bathrobe in his boxers.....

My car is not a daily driver, so it's clean all the time when I take it out, even if that means a quick dustoff with the California duster.

Drive your car, enjoy it, and don't obsess over it. Just remember that it is a car, and it is not more important than family or friends.

Nobody posts pics of their dirty cars! We want everyone else to think they are perfect.

Pictures from a distance tend to mask any imperfections. Get close enough and you will see some chips, scratches, etc. I know you can on mine.

When I took delivery of my ride I had the 3M clear bra installed and haven't regretted it at all. I would hate to see what the front of the car would look like if I hadn't done the bra. The backs of the wheel wells are really starting to show the wear of all the sand and abrasives on the roads these days. I'll have to address this some time soon.
