Has anyone tried that cheap clear bra front bumper and hood protection vinyl?? ,that is being sold on ebay. They dont tell you the manufacurer(i know its not 3m). Just checking to see if its a waste of time, money and effort.
I keep looking at it... I haven't ordered it because I see that while it's a seemingly good deal at $9.99 or whatever, they charge twice that to ship it, and that just pizzes me off! So I don't have one yet. If someone convinces me that it's the greatest thing since sliced bread, I might break down and try it.
I have one from EBay for the lower front fascia that I never installed. Wanna try it for half the price? I'll split the cost of shipping too. I installed Cleartastics behind the fender wells and they've pretty much all blown off. Guess I won't quit my day job...
The 3M 6mil (8mil including adhesive) kit is on e-Bay and I think it is InvictaShield or some such name with the seller being chip????
3M.com has a list of the "converters" who have raw product, kits, software for plotter cutters, etc. I have heard that Starshield and Xpel are good kits but not found any of the kits that wrap around the leading edge of the hood. A top 3M installer told me that if I wanted this wrap on the hood of my car, it would have to be a custom hood piece and not cheap.
If anyone has had a kit installed that prevents stone chips on the composite around the those parts of the C5 front and rear wheel wells and lowest part of the rear quarter panels that get the blast from the tires, I would like to know if that part of the kit covers all of the painted composite body panel and does not leave any exposed parts that are getting the blast from the tires. I saw a 3M kit on an Acura and the coverage was insufficient and some of the paint around that part of the wheel well will be chipped but that part covered by 3M film will not be chipped....a waste of money. Why they do not make the kit so that there is complete coverage is beyond me. I know the uncut film is expensive.
