Default Performance Mods for the C5

I have an 04 C5 LS1 with the following mods...Corsa Cat Backs, K&N Intake, and Jet Programer tuning. The car is auto w/3.15 gears. My question is without hurting resale value, overly increasing noise, going crazy beefing up brakes, driveline, etc., and without overly stressing the LS-1 motor, what mods can I do that will increase HP and Torque to run with all the new cars and trucks in the 400-500 HP range. I would also like to keep the investment within reason. Is all this "wishfull thinking?" The car is not a daily driver, but is used for cruising, I want it driveable!!

Install a supercharger...and remove and sell separately before you sell the car. If you find a used kit, you can wind up with little to no money out of pocket...these used kits seem to be holding their value.

pull your PCM and send it to Chuck at Cow. You'll have the cheapest 400 hp you can buy.

Hey guys....

If it were MY own car and I didn't want anytone to know...and I didn't want ANY negative side effects.....

I would Install the Pro Torque 24-2700 converter and/or a 3.90 rear end gear....It is by far the best bang for the buck!

OH YEAH! And I would have ME tune it!

That's what I would do.....

My ride is very tame sounding and runs like a scalded ape, mods are listed in the sig. Not cheap though, $7 to $9 g's....

Hey man....Stick with the rear end.....It will be one of the most difficult things to detect/notice and will HANDS DOWN deliver the BIGGEST BANG for the buck.....

STS Twin Turbo kit. Just got mine on and tuned about a month or so ago. Very easy to take off and return the car to stock. It does change the exhuast (but in a good way) they have proven to be VERY driveable. You don't even notice it until you get on it.

About $9,300 installed tuned etc...

You also could buy a Maggie as they are always going used in the parts section as those owners want more power. Keep your stock intake and hood so you can return your car to stock and you will get somewhere around 500 rwhp

You can also go with a procharger and have your stock hood.
