Default Is this the going rate? High?

With the '71 almost on the road I am sniffing around the C5 market again trying to figure out what I can afford and what is priced right or over priced. JMHO but it looks like these cars are way over priced right now. Am I wrong?

Here in MN this car probably would be 15% cheaper in the fall.

This is not a coincidence that it is so high priced during the month of May. They know exactly what they're doing, targeting spring fever to sell for the highest price possible. If you can wait...you'll save quite a bit of money.

The driving season is underway. Prices normally go up around April and back down around November. Just the way the market works.

The other thing to remember is that eBay is not exactly the best place to gauge car prices. There are always cars on there that are over priced.

Best thing to do would be to look at Autotrader.com. check the local lots, NADA price guide, and local newpaper and see what avg. market is for your area and wait for the right one to come along

That is the going rate in May. Pull the trigger. You won't regret it.

You really have to want to have it now and you pay more due to the higher demand. Its a 3x black so it's a popular combo car. Nobody has bid on it so I wouldn't be surprised that he doesn't get what he wants. I also think you are better off finding one on autotrader or cars.com.

back in 03 I was looking for a c4 or c5, and was going to go to Atlanta to get a nice 96 vert but then of all things right at xmas there was a c5 sitting at the hummer dealership showroom floor. Got it for a steal. The salespeople said it distracted hummer buyers and they just wanted it gone, I was even able to get them to come down 1000 more than they wanted. Most people don't buy cars then but if you want a vette, Dec/Jan is the best time to get people who just want to move the car or they are desparate. Most people who sell at that time need the money.
