Default Corsa Prospects Beware

I previously reported that Corsa was working with me to resolve an alignment issue with my new Pace Cars. Boy, was I ever misled by them.

While at first I was impressed with the way their product manager and QC manager were all over the issue, they're displaying a different face now.

I clearly explained to them that one muffler needed to be pushed further forward and that one of their connector pipes, and they initially acted like they wanted to help.

So, what did they do? They sent a replacement part that did NOT address my issue at all. In fact, the replacement part didn't even fit!

I got back to them about that, and they said that they're not willing to help any more, because they already tried, even though the part they sent me was all wrong!

On top of all this, they're saying the problem is that I don't have THEIR X-pipe.

I can't even believe they're being like this, especially since they already sent me a replacement part. If they had actually sent me the correct one, this issue would've been put to bed.

I tell you what, their technology is good, but their fitment is horrible. If you're thinking about Corsas, be prepared to have your own pipe work done to get them to fit right, and don't expect much help from them, because they're real quick to point the finger.

Expect to pay $1000 or so for their system, and additional money for custom piping at a muffler shop to get them to fit right. If you don't believe me, ask around on this forum and you'll MANY other people who have fitment issues.

Again, while the mufflers are good, there's much to be desired about the company. When I do this again in the future, you can be sure I won't be buying anything else from them.

Good luck.

Corsas, been there done that . Now I ordered a Bassani muffler system because I have a Bassani x-pipe. Over all that lesson cost me about $800. They told me the same thing, since I did not have their x-pipe they could not help me. Good luck

I'm sorry you had such a hard time with Corsa. A year and a half ago I had issues with the alignment of the left side (can hanging too low when tips are aligned). Paul Santiago worked with me sending me a new left can (embossed tip logo did not match right tips). I ended up with my original left can after they confirmed (with pics) that it lines up on their jig and is with in specs. I agree their system requires a lot of effort to align especially one person install, but I cannot complain about their customer service. They bent over backwards for me helping resolve my problem, emails/pictures/instructions. At no time did they ever try and push their X pipe on me (I do not have one). With all the mailing of parts back and forth, I didn't pay a dime. I finally got them aligned and I do love the Indy's sound and pro tip look. Not to say you don't have a legitamate grip, but to be fair there are others that have had good responses form Corsa. I hope you get it resolved.
Good Luck

This has nothing to do with simply aligning the mufflers. This has everything to do with their design tolerances. And, all I needed was a minor modification to only one of their elbow pipes. Now, they were willing to make a mod to an elbow pipe, but they modded it wrong, then when it didn't even fit because of that wrong "fix", they turned around and blamed it on the fact that I don't have one of THEIR x-pipes, and that I was using someone else's. I called the manufacturer of my X-pipe, who took measurements and everything lined up EXACTLY like the Corsa x-pipe. I also previously had that x-pipe on with my factory mufflers and GHL Bullets with zero problems.

Also, Paul Santiago has been an excellent person to deal with, and on the second go-round, he acknowledged the problem and was willing to help. However, the QC manager didn't see it that way, and wants to charge me for another properly modded elbow pipe because he feels they already tried to help. In reality, the first modded pipe was modded in such a way that it couldn't even be used! It's kind of like they're saying, "OK, we'll help, but only once." And, because thy didn't mod the replacement pipe properly, they're now saying it's my problem, when it clearly is not.

From what I can tell from posts on this forum, there have been MANY folks having this same issue, and you are one of few who say their Corsas fit pefectly. And, even though I'm not even looking for perfect, just acceptable, it's sad that they're now pointing fingers, rather than owning up to their mistake on the replacement part sent. And, I'm sure you'll agree that that is NOT good customer service.

Leadfoot, I must have missed your reason that you got rid of your GHL's. Do you still have them? If so, are you going to put them back on? I've never been a fan of the Corsa systems. Sorry to hear about your luck...I would have expected more professional courtesy and customer service out of the Corsa folks

I had a fitment issue with Corsa's on a '94. They told me that my car was too short.

My Corsa's are lined up perfectly but one of the pipes was not welded on straight so there is no way of lining them up totally perfect. I got it as close as possible after getting under the car about 100 times. A lot of my success with getting them straight was putting pressure on whichever direction I needed them to go while torqueing them down. Hard to do with one person but I did it.

I guess I got lucky. I had a Corsa cat back on my C4. I have Corsa touring on my C5. Both sets are perfect.

I had alignment problems with my Corsa exhaust too. Would not stay aligned and one side stuck out a little more than the other. The worst part were the clamps they provided. After the right bank falling off for the third time (including once at the strip) I had them welded on.

KELVIN, What's up. Hope all is well with the Column lock deal. I had a similar problem with my B&B's not fitting right and I had to cut the pipe to make it work. Are you selling the GHL's. I liked the way your car sounded and I am still trying to make mine a little quieter. Do you want to sell them???? Rich at Woodard

While I indeed liked the GHL Bullets, I really wanted the GTR tips that only Corsa has. When I got the Corsas in, I noticed right off the bat that the GHLs are a much higher quality steel and everything. Right there, I should've known that there might also be fitment issues.

Unfortunately, I sold my GHLs immediately, so there's no turning back for me now. I just had a muffler shop modify the Corsa elbow pipe I was having problems with, and it looks like I got the issue licked, but I should NOT have even had to go through all this.

Hey, Rich,

Good to hear from you. Prior to my installing a CLB, I would get the Pull Key... message every so often, which is why installed the CLB to begin with. Ever since you guys did the modified 04006C work, where you removed the 04006C relay and replaced the actuator with a late '04 actuator, I've not had one single issue. And, I no longer even have a CLB, so I think that last recall thing did the trick.

Regarding the GHL Bullets, I sold them to the first person who responded to my FS post. Had I known you wanted them, I would've contacted you first.

I've heard this type of stuff alot regarding Corsa. I had 2 sets of Corsa's for my C6. 1st one had a scratched tip (sent it back with some degree of hassle). 2nd one had misaligned tips (sold it). Plus they weighed a ton and swayed while driving. Borla Stingers on my C5 and GHL on my C6 with no issues.

Not only do mine fit perfect but when 1 can developed a rattle at about 3 years old I called them and they sent me not 1 but 2 new cans so they would match up right.

They look great, they fit great, and their customer service was top notch.
