I bought the CAGS Skip-Shift disconnect kit from ZIP ($19.95) and installed it the other day. Took only a few minutes. Got rid of the uncertainty when shifting from first to second with a possibility or going into fourth.
No question now!
I highly recommend this Skip Shift Disconnect Plug Kit.

I was holding off, thought I would get used to it, but really starting to get annoyed with it lately ...might have to give it a try.

How long to get it after you ordered it?
It was delivered within three days after I ordered, no special shipping was requested. Just jack up the back, un hook the connector on the tramission (right rear), snap the two connectors in place, lower the car and off you go. No fuss, no muss, and no shift into fourth!
tripple ditto 1st mod
This was the first stick shift I have driven since the late 60's. Only 4 gears then. The first time I skipped to 4th I thought WTF? Read up on it (saves gas?) and what a bunch of . But if it stops a gas guzzler tax on the car, I'll gladly accept it and spend $20 to defeat it.

I just ordered one from Corvette Accessories Unlimited : http://www.cau-llc.com/
I have used them before and they were good to deal with. I've had my C5 MN6 since last November and the 1 to 4 shift has really been getting to me. This thread helped me make up my mind to do it!
