I looked at an 04 vert today guy is asking 35,000. car has 11500 miles on it which seems like a lot for a 04. Car is fully loaded (heads up, telescope steering wheel ect) The only thing that threw me was that it wase'nt that clean and seemed to need 4 tires. I checked his tire pressure and he was running at 38 psi all arround. says he is forced to sell because of a divorce vin # 1G1YY32G545129926. I recently sold my 98 vert and am in the market. Just throwing this out there for your thoughts Price seems good, but it did'nt blow me away
HIgh miles for a vette you mean? Average of 12000 miles a year for a regular car would put you at at least 24000. For a vette its probably been driven more than you would like it to have been. Its still low miles and still on warranty.
Do you like the car? Are you going to put a lot of miles on it? Are the tires shot uniformly? If they are its been driven. If it is just in the middle they were over inflated. If its on the edges they were under inflated.
What's the book on an 04 vert with the options it has on it? Whats wholesale? Tell him it needs new tires and you want 1200 off at least for new meats. Carfax that bad boy and see what it spits out.
The high tire pressure could be due to filling them to 30psi over the winter and
he hasn't checked them since the weathers warmed... and 11,xxx is not
high mileage for an 04 and with that many miles it shouldn't need new tires yet!
Hmmmm Tires worn at 11K miles....Is it just the rear tires? Sounds like some hard driving, they just don't wear out that fast under normal driving with some occasional spirited acceleration. I would have someone qualified to check it out first. Good luck
My 04 has 14,000 miles on it in two years and I don't think that is a lot of miles. Tiers are less than half gone, so either the car has more miles than odometer shows or has had some hard driving.

The miles wouldn't bother me so much. I'd really wonder if it was the high pressure in the tires or something else that caused the tires to go bad so quickly. See if he has any maintenance records and have the car checked out thoroughly if you decide to buy.

We have about 13.5K on our '03 vert and still have near 7/32 tire tread left on all 4 tires and that is with a little spirited driving. Good luck with the decision.
now this depends entirely on condition, maintenance, clean carfax, et cetera...but from this point on the bleachers the miles & price appear ok. good luck. bub
RRRRRRUNNNNNNNN no way run flats with 11.5 k should look old. mine had about 10k and look brand new, I would asume they rolled that bad boy back or disconnected the odometer, check the wear on the seat and look under the dash with the panel removed for some "shady" wiring, for 35 thats a decent deal but not if you think the car has 30k on it...And btw if the car was at adealer be very careful ALOT of dealers in ny roll the vettes back. just b careful..and goodluck
I would pass..... car wasn't clean, tires need replacing at 11k, tells me the car was not taken care of, beat to death, I would guess a possibly
a lease car. Or an exec car...I would almost want to bet the oil was never changed, or any maintenance done.
There are too many well maintained cars out there.
you may want to check out some certified used vettes from the chevy dealer and stay away from private sales.i got my 02 off the chevy lot and it only had 3k on it.it still had new car smell and factory labels all over the undercarrage.also got the GMPP for three years for peace of mind........good luck
There is a theme here. Tires are definitely a sign. Price is reasonable but something does not add up. Is he the original owner? Do some more careful digging before you decide. You may want to pay just a little bit more for a real beauty that you feel more comfortable with?
