Well, I finally have my Vette back on the road ever since my stock LS1 engine gave up the ghost back in October 2005. It’s a long story (I’ll spare everyone the gruesome details for now) ! Bottom line, my 1999 C5 has a new 2005 LS6 Crate Engine modified with a Henrik’s Automotive Performance Racing Engine 475 HP head and Cam package and a new 2004 Z06 clutch and flywheel. I was running the “Stinger Exhaust”, but with the new engine upgrades I swap them out (too loud). So, now I’m running the Corsa Tiger Shark (Indy) Exhaust System connected to “Stainless Works” Long Tube, Stainless Steel Header (3” Collectors), and Stainless Steel Random Technology CATs and X-Pipe. By the way, the Corsa Tiger Shark (Indy) Exhaust is great.
So, far things seem to be working great. I just finished the break in period for the new engine, so now I’ll get to see what kinda power gains I’ve picked up.
beautiful car man; congrats on being back on the road. autobahn run soon? bub
Bud,
For Sure, however I was out on the Autobahn yesterday for a littel spin. Like I said I just finished my break in period for the new engine,so maybe I'll be able to get out on the Autobahn some time this week if the weathers nice.
They do engine break in a little different here in Germany that back home in the states. Normally in the states they tell you not go drive over 55 or 60 for the first 500 miles, right? Here it's "don't drive over
4000 RPM for 1200 KM. A 100 MPH in 6th gear is around 2600 RPMs, so
I've had a chance to do a little bit of cruising even with the break in.
Thanks for the note. . . .
