Keyless entry problems
I am a newbie to Vettes, having just bought my first a 99 TR Cpe with only 23k.........loving it, But I have a question about the keyless entry system and remote fob.
When my fob is within say 15-20 feet or closer to my car, the locks cycle locked amd unlocked over and over seemingly at random.....with the lights responding as well.
Passive is OFF on the fob, AutoLock is Off on the DIC
Any ideas ?
Is the system supposed to Auto Lock the car without any input from me ?

If passive is in fact off (really troublesome switch) it sounds as if you have a defective remote plain and simple. One of the buttons is stuck. You might try taking it apart and or replacing the battery which may help if there is simply crud around one of the buttons on the inside. Otherwise, I'd head for a new remote. You need a '97-'99 remote as no other years will work. There are three different remote packages '97-'99, '00 and '01-'04. Make sure you get the right one.

Kinda figured that might be the issue, will disassemble it for a cleaning
