Opinions On Flames
Saying all that, a "true fire" paint scheme of silvers, gunmetals, and maybe a little black on a white car would look awesome. Try looking up some pics of Mike Livalle's (sp?) work, hes the guy who started it all and he may have done some sort of a true fire on a white vehicle.
I've done my fair share of airbrushing and painting, if you have any more questions feel free to PM me.

Why not try the real flames with a slightly different color. Hell, I have even seen them blue and they look nice. Obviously not blue on your car, but you get the idea.
PS..... never mind just saw you had red interior.

THANKS for posting.

Ghost flames light blue or gray maybe a perl in it. But it is your car, so do what you want.
i kinda partial to ghost flames myself
If you do traditional style flames or tribals, be sure and add drop shadows to them.
Adding drop shadows will make the flames look like they are hovering over the white base.
Possibly charcoal (MSG) or silver flames or tribals with red pinstripes and drop shadows would look good over the white.
As far as ghost flames, harder to do these over a white base...they definitely will stand out though no matter which way you go. (you want them to stand out anyway). I know I have orange pearl, blue pearl, silver pearl ghost flames over white shown on the site...
BUT, the ghost flames are great to go with on a Vette as you don't have to do the front bumper. You basically just need to do the hood, fenders and doors (if wanted). Silver pearl over white is a great color combo for ghost flames. You can also control the consistency on how much you want them to stand out. You could also do the tips in a different color, possibly black or red.

Good luck!
