I had some clear ones years ago....they do OK...I didnt attach them I let them just sit there..they do allow water to get beneath them and dirt....didnt really cause any paint damage and they eventually cracked at the bend between the bottom piece and where they came up toward the sill....IMO...save your $$$

You have to take them off and wipe the water from under them when you wash your car and they end up scratching what they are desgned to protect.

I ripped mine off and threw them in the garbage after I saw the scratches they left on the sill.

I have the clear plastic sill protectors with Corvette in black letters, from Mid America. Have used them for about 7 months. I waxed the sill twice before I put them on. Water does get under them when you wash the car or it rains hard. Not a protector problem, rather a Corvette weatherstrip problem. I take them off before the wash and replace after drying. A gripper on the carpet side holds them in place. If you exercise a little care when removing and replacing them I don't think they will scratch the sill. I don't have any scratches yet. I do believe they have saved me from a lot of scuff marks on the sill.

Wordy but factual...cheers

I use Cleartastic polyethylene film. Don't even know it's there but great protection in case of a slip.

I'm actually on my second set because the first set got so scuffed up they started looking a little ratty. Better and easier to replace a set of protectors than have the sill repainted because it was scuffed up!

I have a clear set that came with the car. The only problem I've found is water getting under them as others have said. For this reason I would suggest you use clear if you changed your mind and decided to try them.
