Are you using an aftermarket coupler? I have one of those red ones, and I had to trim about an 1/8" off the coupler to get the airbridge to sit down on the pegs. It works just fine now.
Yes with a little finessing it will fit like it was from the factory.
Ok, so wtf?! The blackwing was the only mod my c5 had when I bought it. I was installing my throttle body bypass and noticed that my IAT sensor was unplugged. In this pic you posted I see where it's supposed to go, but my blackwing flat out does NOT have a spot for me to plug mine in...do I need to drill one??
Here is a pic of what i'm talking about:
My IAT sensor just hangs loose in my engine compartment.

You must have an aftermarket airbridge. You can either drill the proper size hole in the airbrige and make sure it seals completely with the sensor in by using a hollow rubber grommet or install a stock airbridge with the provision in place.
The MAF sensor measures airflow into the engine and proportions fuel to the engine based on a preset air fuel ratio for economy. The MAF sensor does not read the airflows above the cruise and part throttle operation. The computer must calculate fuel from a factory table based on RPM and calculated load.

Remove the flow gauge device from the top of the Blackwing and plug in the IAT sensor. 1997-2000 C5's had their sensors mounted in the powerbridge, as your picture shows. 2001-2004 C5's incorporated the IAT sensor as part of the MAF. The Blackwing is a better place to put it, anyway, as there's a lot less heat-soaking there, so when you hot-start the car, your timing rollback, because of heat sensing, will be a lot shorter duration. It's what Lingenfelter does when they mod a motor.

Mine did that too until I took it loose again and cleaned my radiator.
Push up on the shroud while its unbolted ( two bolts on each side of shroud ) and snap the support bushing back in place. Use some lube
( window cleaner works OK ) on the rubber bushing.
