There have been way too many warranty companies which went out of business and left their clients twisting in the wind. To me the only safe choice is the GM Protection Plan. Maybe a little more expensive (although you can cut the price by accepting more risk/deductible), but if GMPP goes under so too will have GM and a bad warranty won't be your biggest problem.
Check the forum for dealer in the Northwest who gives good prices on GMPP. I think its Fred Beans.
