Default Tires

I like the KDW's for my Z06 except it doesn't come in stock Z06 sizes for the fronts. Is anyone running the 255's on the front? How do they look width-wise compared to the SC's? The other tire I like is the Toyo T1-R.

I just put a set of Toyo Proxes T1R's on and wow what a difference! You can't go too far wrong with the Toyos and I like the look!

i would have to agree, the toyo's are a excellent buy......much better traction wet and dry than the stock f1sc's.

I have Toyo T1R's here also. When my CCW's go on, I'm getting KDW 2's.

I'm running the Toyo T1S's on my '03 Z and they are great on both street and track, both wet and dry. And even though I've pushed them fairly hard on the track, they are wearing pretty well. Very impressed with them.

I would go to a 275 over a 255

Is the T1S an upgrade to the T1R or a completely different tire? How do the Toyo's look width-wise vs the SC's? I read where some tires look narrower despite being the same size as the SC's (like the Firehawks). I don't track my car and I like the widest look I can have!

I answered my own question on the T1R - it's the newer version vs the T1S. Would still like to hear some comments on how wide they look though. Thanks!

To me they look exactly the same as the F1's. I like the T1R better than the T1S look for that very reason. Too dark to snap a pic tonight. If you're still unsure I will take a pic tomorrow.

I use the Toyo RA 1's, but they are R compound tires. RA 1's were recommended to me by Lou Gigllioti and they have amazing grip!

I have been using the toyo T1R's for a little over a 1,000 miles now and I am extremely happy with them. They have excellent grip and are great in wet weather. I wasn't too sure of them before I got them, as I was used to Michelin Pilot Sports, but now, I am glad I went with them. The price is hard to beat, and I think they have better grip than the Michelin Pilots. I really like the Michelin Pilots, but for the buck, you can't go wrong with the T1R's. Don't know about the KDW's first hand, but I have heard great reviews.

I had Toyo's on another car (not a Vette) and they were great tires. I think I'm getting more and more sold on the idea of T1R's for my next set on the Vette! Thanks for all the replies!
