[Z06] Durabilty???

Durabilty???
I'm considering purchasing a C5 Z06 or a new C6 Vette and I'm trying to find out some differences between the two other than the fact that the Z06 is a fixed roof car. Is one more durable than the other??? I know the C6 uses cast internals but wasn't sure about the Z06. Also which is easier to mod???

I don't think durability is a problem with either. The LS6 and LS2 are both bullet proof with good maintenance. Mods are now widely available for the C6 but you'll probably pay a little more because of the R&D costs. You'll get about the same bang for your buck out of the usual mods like intake, headers, exhaust, etc... The C6 obviously has newer technology and being a newer model some of the bugs are still being worked out (roof adhesive, battery, etc...) I have an 02 Z with about 29k miles. No problems with it but I will have a C6 soon. Either would be a great choice. Buy the lowest miles, best maintained car you can get. I've found us enthusiasts take better care of our cars than those that just bought it because it was the cool new car. Good luck with your search. Be patient and you'll find a good deal.
