I've got a self-dimming mirror in my 01 and was wondering if you had to epoxy their mount to the glass? It looks like they use a screw for the standard mirror, but the pictures show a mounting surface for the model specific to the E.C. mirror. I was also curious if anyone thought it was too much in the line of sight seeing that there is already limited visibility realestate in the vette?
Any pictures, especially with the invisicord would be great. I'll probably go ahead and pick one up since it seems like the best way to mount it.
I have that setup and love it. It is easy to see from the inside, but hard to see from the outside.
I used some sort of glue and then stuck it in the hole. I held it together with rubber bands until it dried. It has been over a year and I dont think it is going anywhere.

You don't epoxy the "puck" to the glass - it's epoxied to the bottom of the mirror bracket itself.
I mounted my V1 using the kit from Great Lakes, and then ran the power cord straight up to the edge of the windshield, tucked the cord in all the way over to the "A" piller, removed the cover of the piller, ran the cord down through the top of the dashboard, then behind the dash and into the fuse block in the passenger side footwell. There's a three wire pig tail in there - one wire is ground, one is powered with the ignition and one is hot all of the time. I tapped into the one hot from the ignition and the ground, installed an inline fuse and I'm good to go.
Now the V1 only comes on with the ignition - so I don't have to remember to turn it on. I've had installed for 2 years and have had absolutely no issues, and the only part of the wire that shows is the very end where it plugs into the unit.
Got the same thing and I'm using the invisicord into the back of the rear view mirror. Only problem is on a couple of occasions going hard around a turn or sudden acceleration, the V1 flies off the bracket into the passenger seat (just the V1 - the bracket stays on just fine). But I guess I can live with it
