Default Back-up lenses mod

Just received them today and they're pretty easy to install, took me about 15 mins. I know some might not agree, but IMHO, it's a better look for my car since I'm going with Silver/Chrome/Clear look. I haven't really seen them a lot on C5's so maybe they're not as popular.

I think I like 'em, but the blue bulbs are kind of distracting. Why are they like that? I think I'd like 'em better if the bulb paint was silver instead of blue.

http://www.autoanything.com/lights/60A1774A0A0.aspx, click on the products part just below the "financing avaialble" part on the right side of the screen and look up "Crystal eyes diamond cut back up lenses" it'll show $99.72 total, I found them the cheapest if you include the cost of shipping as they are free with this particular vendor. There is another site that sells them for $5 less but have a $10 shipping so they end up costing more.

Thank you, I'll check them out I'm guessing these are brighter than OEM, but can anybody varify that?

I have the same sewtup on my 02 and the blue bulbs are not as bright at night as standard clear bulbs. The blue coating takes away some of the light output. Blue light at night does not provide the contrast that light from a clear bulb does.

There are halogen 50W bulbs available that greatly increase the light at night but there would probably be much more heat given off from those bulbs. Guess it wouldn't be a big deal if you weren't in reverse for more than 30 seconds or so.

Those bulbs I have are silverstars and instead of white illumination, they're amber. Don't know if they will reflect brighter but I had the amber reverse bulbs a while ago.
The pic shown are with stock GM lenses and not what I have currently.

i bought a set of those and put them in a few days ago.

a cool thing that you can't see in these posted pics is that each one of the square little "facets" reflects the light from the bulb.

it's a really cool effect. i'll take some pics when i can of this.
