Default Caliper Question

I am getting my Calipers power coated tomorrow so, I have them all out and stripped, clean and ready to go. My question is can I reuse the rubber and seal that I removed?

I am planning on purchasing re-build kit for each with comes with rubber on the piston and the rubber seal is this necessary? If you have done this please advice.

Thanks

Depends how old are the calipers and how many HPDE on them. Since you are already in there, I would replace the seals.

Powdercoating will subject your calipers to a baking at 400 degrees to cure the powder coating. ANYTHING that is not metal should be replaced.

When I had my calipers powder coated recently, I bought the caliper rebuild kits from my local dealer. IMO - it's the right way to do it. Then make sure you drain and clean out the brakes lines and resevoir and refill with either DOT3 or DOT4 brake fluid.
