Installing FRAM Airhog filter
I purchsaed a new FRAM Airhog air filter today and I noticed that the filter doesn't fit into the "drawer" that slides into the box of the intake system.
Does the filter go into the box directly, without using the drawer?
I want to make sure I get a good seal so debris isn't getting into my engine.

The Fram Air Hog filter should have also came with a plastic frame for the filter. You will remove the stock plastic frame and filter and replace with the Fram plastic frame and filter. If you only have an air filter in the box you a missing one of the pieces.

I simply cut off those little support fins on the inside of the filter tray with my hand held grinder. The filter fit great. Take your time and it will work out perfectly. 
PS. I hope you have the Z06 lid to go with the new filter. Much bigger intake opening.
