Possibly buying a Z06
I am looking to buy my first Z06 - I looked at it today
it is an '01 quicksilver - bone stock with 16k on the clock
is there anything I should be aware of?

If you do a search on this forum, you will notice that many 2001 Z06's have high oil consumption during high rpm, low throttle driving situations.
This has something to do with the piston rings, and I believe there is a TSB to have the issue fixed (under warranty?).
Other than that, they are fabulous cars. I went with the 2002 model in order to avoid this slight nuisance, and to get the 20 more hp.
Finally, run a CarFax check on that VIN to make sure the car hasn't been written off / damaged / flooded / etc.

How much are they asking for it? I have had mine for 1 year (about 2500 miles) and love it. It is an '01 TR Zo6 with 15,066 when I bought it, and 17,500 now. The seller was asking $29,900, and I got it for $28,000 with the remainder of a factory warrantee. I have had no oil consumption issues, but I do not drive the car as hard as some. I have not driven any newer, so do not know if the 20hp is that noticeable.
