These post is to relate my latest experience in corvette hobby my first vette was a 2000 coupe I was extrimly happy with it execept for the detail that it was not convertible, I was in search of one since the begining but I could not find one in proper condition, untill one day somebody 700 miles away from me put one for sale in the net, that weekend I jumped on a plane payd for it and drove back to my home, now I have 2 black corvettes in my garage. I was very happy driving my convertible all araund and did put for sale my coupe, untill one day I decided to take the coup for a fareweel spin. I jumped in the car and pushed the pedal and varrom the hell broke loose. I was so acostumed to the vert that I did apply the same presure I ussually do to the pedal and thas when I noticed something strengh the hp on the coupe felt double as in the vert I cheked gear ratios on bouth and they were the same, now I am in deep trouble I can not sale my convertible because is my dream car and the copue is the most fun car I ever drove. Maybe I should sell bouth and go for a 2005 vert but for me c5 is the nicest and sexiest line ever exept of course 427 C2, but thas a diferent story for another day. Have fun out there.

Don't know why your coupe would be that much faster than a vert unless it has been heavily modded. But, nothing wrong with having two C5's in the stable.
If you're happy that's all that matters but to me it sounds as if something is amiss with the Vert. Is it an automatic? It sounds to me as it may have the 2.73 gears. I can't think of any other reason for there to be that much of a difference from a '98 to a '00.
