Battery Dead
I am actually posting for a buddy. He has a 1998 Vert 6 Spd, and had his Vert in Storage for a while and he thinks his Battery is Dead now..Is there any kind of Mechanism that would prevent a simple "JUMP" thate would bring back in shape, or anything else that he should know about prior to storing that would eliminate this issue?Remove Positive Terminal? etc

if it is the stock, original battery - replace it now, then use a float charger when it is in storage (Battery Tender is one type of float charger). The stock batteries had major quality problems - the positive post would crack, leaking acid all over the electronics below the battery. See this tech tip for details
