Just had that wait 10 seconds message normally associated with the Column Lock. Did as it said and the car went fine when I fired it up.
I'm just wondering if this is "the" sign for having to get the bypass, and I'm also wondering if its worth my time going to the dealership to let them do their magic since I've heard the dealership recall tends to have issues? Any imput would be appreciated!
Do some research on this forum, there has been lots of good advice written about the Column Lock Bypass the last several months.
If you have a 6 speed, get the bypass and install it yourself or have your mechanic do it. It's a simple fix and great piece of mind! I would NOT take it to a dealer!
If it is a theft deterrent, and in a quick frenzy it can be removed in 10-15 minutes, why have it? There are other better theft deterrents built in anyway..........

That happened to me once, and I haven't done anything about it.
Thought the same thing.
Keeping my fingers crossed.
I would have your battery tested. Even after I installed the bypass,
I got this message when battery is low
Happened to me two days ago, same way as you. Today car would not start because of corrosion on the terminals. I cleaned and changed battery. Early to say but to much of a coincedence not to be it. Good luck.
