I recently purchased an 00' coupe. I wanted to "test her out a bit" so i got on it from a stop and car seemed to just lose power for a second. Is this the traction control kicking in? I have a button in middle console area. Does this button turn it all the way off ? On the other hand it very well could be my driving skills as im not too use to the car yet. Was kinda embarresed cause this little Subaru WRX was beside me. Any opinions on this matter. Im hoping it was a screw loose behind the wheel...namely me
I did the same thing when I first got mine. Kinda felt like your foot slipped off the gas.You can turn that off if you're wanting to lite up the ol' Goodyears. But beware the vette will come around on you real fast if your not careful. Best try that some where safe with lots of space
Hit the button once to turn off traction control and active handling. If you hold the button down it goes to Competition Mode and turns off TC, but leaves AH on. Being a 2000 the car might have to be at a dead stop to turn it on or off.
When I first got mine I kept active handling and traction control on for the first week untill I felt comfortable with the car. (button on center console)
Then turned it off and before you know it the car was side ways with a huge smile on my face. Managed to keep the front in control, but just a word to the wise, these cars CAN GET VERY SQUIRELY if you don't treat them with enough respect. When the button is off becareful around the bendies...
along these lines......stock about everything....do i need to worry about tearing my rearend up? Ill sacrafice a lil tire but mr wallet wont let me play with the rearend.
