I also have to recommend the Callaway Honker. Very well made and the installation is not difficult. Good instructions make it go easily. It comes with a high quality Green (brand name) filter. Also is emissions legal in all states. It relocates the MAF directly in front of the throttle body, as GM has done on the C6. Interestingly, Callaway did this first before the C6 existed. I wonder if this idea came to GM after seeing the Honker. While the initial price might seem high, let me point out if you buy another brand of intake and then also buy an aftermarket air bridge, you'll be in the same ballpark pricewise. The Callaway unit is all one-piece. Dyno tests have all had excellent results. I am 110% satisfied with my decision to buy it. You might try Corvettes of Houston, they had been discounting it. I paid list at Callaway $490 but I still had no complaints.
BTW, definete seat-of-the-pants acceleration improvement. It also sounds great when you get up near red-line!
I know we are BADH, but I put the Vararam in my '03 Z and it really woke the engine up. It is a bit of a POS in terms of quality when you first take it out of the box and a bit of a PITA to install, but it went in okay and really does what they claim.

Hey Does the Honker require any cutting of the shroud? I want a complete "bolt-on" type intake.....
is the Halltech Stinger an "all-in-one" piece too?
Thanks in advance.
[Callaway CAI] This install does require the cutting of the Rad shroud. A good jig saw is all you need. You do need a rivet tool as far as special tools. I recommend you buy an extra shroud. And while you're at it... a bottom feeder radiator screen, to avoid any road litter being sucked up thru the induction. (Brought the shroud at Fred Beans & the screen at Elite Engineering.)

Tin snips will cut the plastic shroud.
I read on here that someone got a big discount buying the Honker from Corvettes of Houston using a forum discount.
The Honker does require cutting a hole, but even an X-acto knife or utility knife will cut the plastic. A replacement shroud is inexpensive, maybe $50. A rivet tool is not too expensive, either. I already had one. As far as screen underneath, I made one for about $2 in materials using the same screen from Home Depot that Mid-America sells for $60. A while back Vette magazine had a dyno test on a Honker installation. After tuning, the particular car picked up 34 hp. You don't really need to get the computer reprogrammed though to use the Honker. It will run fine right out of the box. You might not get 34 hp, but you will notice a difference. One other point, the Honker looks good in the engine compartment. Hope that answers some more questions.
