Yet Another HID Testimony
here, but a few weeks ago I installedthe ACA HID headlights.
I really haven't had much of a chance to drive at night but last night I
had to work late and did my usual 25 mile ride.
The difference is truly amazing. If any of you are on the fence about
getting these, jump off now. It is by far the best money I've spent
on the car.
I really hestitated driving at night (60 year old eyes) and debated on
whether the cost was worth it.
The install is easy and the result is spectacular.
No splicing...It is truly plug n play.
Only a modification to the headlight bracket due to GM manufacturing.
A dremel tools and cutoff wheel will do.
You spend more time trying to figure out where to route you wires
and mount the ballasts. I mounted them on the front bumper frame rail.

I'm thinking about getting this as well. Saw them installed on Jim's Z06 and they look awesome at night

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

I can actually see the bugs hitting my windshield.

It's good you have a favorite vendor and of course, NOT MEE has
an excellent rep wihich is well deserved.
But to warn others to "stay away" is not fair.
I'm not sure that you know what instructions are included with other vendors' kits. When I was shopping, I asked a vendor exactly what
and why his kit was so "special" as to be several hundred $$$ higher.
I didn't get a satisfactory answer, only a "warning" that the service
with the other kits wouldn't be the same.
Fair enough....But not good enough for me.
If that extra service is worth it to you, by all means enjoy yourself.
Quite honestly, this is not brain surgey and a little mechanical
know-how is all you need.
As stated, more time is spent routing ires and mounting ballasts ( I used
screws and sticky pads).
As a matter of fact, a vendor was reprimanded by ACA for selling
too cheaply, I guess because another vendor complained.
I don't know who this was but I have my suspicions.
Will there be a better, more upgraded kit? Most likely. Will there be
failures with old vs. new kits? Sure...But we go with what we got.
I like any vendor to sell me his item(s) based on the merits of his item
or service. Not by degrading someone else's product.
I always get a little
when that happens and more than likelysay
I do know that the headlight alignment procedure provided with my
kit was taken right from the Corvette Service Manual and was confusing
as hell and really didn't apply to HID. So a little experimentation and
help from CF and I got it right.
FYI, I measured my car 36' back from a wall and adjusted the top line
of the cutoff (just left of the "halo" effect) to 24 3/4" from the ground.
Yes, you can be that accurate. I played from between 24 and 25 1/2
and split the difference.
I left the bezels off for a few days so it would be a matter of minutes
to adjust.
Good Luck...G

No one was degrading any vendor All that was stated is that I have installed 30 kits personally and I offer a choice.
Base kit or premium kit.
Drop shipping the kits is not advised and i have told that to other vendors selling the kits.
I have had nightmares from the manufacturer shipping incomplete or the wrong thing.
I bring everything in house so it know it is complete.
Thanks

From experience, I did buy fromTBYRNE, a supporting vendor, and I got my kit 3 weeks from the time I put my order in, and when it arrived I got NO instructions w/ the kit. I asked for help and got it from NOT MEE who could have easily said
. But he sent me his Corvette specific instructions and the install was a breeze. Then two days later TBYRNE emailed me the instructions they have for that kit

Brian is Da' man!

I know NOT-MEE has great rep on the forum, but I just want to mention that SCP is top notch also. So

With all that can happen it was decided that he would buy systems from me.
I know the kit better than the manufacturer. I have never seen Jim's instructions. But he will have access to ours and also his customers have access to me and my knowledge if needed.

The premium kit uses newer generation electronics and cabling
