Default Tire Pressures?

I am going to be traveling to Bloomington Gold, doing hiway plus speeds during this hot weather(400 plus miles one way). My tires are at 30PSI cold. Should I drop the pressure down some before I leave, due to the fact that they will undoubtedly heat up a fair amount as I drive?

Thanks.

I run my tires at about 26 - 27 psi cold in the summer, which takes them up to about 31 - 32 psi hot. Here in Arizona, it only takes about 4 miles to get the tires up into operating temps.

I have mine set at 30 psi cold and on a 300 mile trip, they highest they got were 33 psi. I would not go as low as 27 in MI. We have almost the same weather. 60-70 at night and 80-100 during the day.

IMHO, I would go no lower than 29psi cold.

No, Do not reduce the tire pressure. It is supposed to increase with temperature, and is necessary for handling and tire life.

Best,

Well, the majority concensus is to not lower the air pressure. Then that is what I will do. Thanks for the advice. For those of you going to Bloomington Gold, I hope to see and meet you on Saturday.

I would keep them at 30psi.

I have a Z06 and run 31 front and 30 rear. So far perfect wear straight across and rides great.

The tires are expected to increase pressure as the temps. increase. 30# is the correct cold pressure.
