Default Bad Years?

The wife and I are retiring and looking at buying a used C5 or C6 Coupe. We want to tour the country. Are there any model years to avoid due to problems?

Nope.

But in any new mass production, glitches decrease as the years go by. Have fun

Good Luck!

Don't worry, they are not as bad as you might think after reading this. This is every problem that the group of us has had.

Buy the newest car you can afford. Try to stay below 40,000-50,000 miles if possible. Most problems will have been taken care of in warranty. My vettes have been very trouble free cars for me over the last 48 years that I've owned them. Maybe stay away from repainted cars, a lot of problems can be painted over. There are a lot of cars out there, so take your time and get what you really want. You might contact a Corvette club in your area too, they usually know where nice cars are for sale. If you don't know a lot about Corvettes, have someone go with you that does. They may be more objective than you and steer you clear of a bad deal. Use Carfax with a grain of salt, as they only pick up reported problems, not ALL problems. Have fun in your search and enjoy your retirement, I am mine.
