Good bye C5
Another genius posting about someone he doesn't know.
To those who decided that this was their opportunity to bash someone they don't even know, good luck to you too even though you exposed your attitudes for the world to see.
I still like the car, and would like to buy another, but I feel that unless GM gets their **** together, then they may lose another customer.
Hope the new car, regardless of what it is will work out better for you. I had some issues with my 98 but it seems they all worked out for the best. I would dump the Vette also if I had the nighmare you have had and not be able to work out the problems...
I bought my vette used its a 1998 and has about 68K on it... Other than maintance and oil changes and one water pump.... Its been flawless.....
Sorry you had the gremlins of all Gremilns....

Over 52,000 on my 2002 and not a single issue (other than a dead battery in 2005 which I *GASP* replaced myself!!!
). Regular preventive maintenance and a lot of TLC (aka, drive it a lot and wash it a lot!). Good luck on your next car; no other flagship vehicles from any car company have problems at all so you can rest assured you'll buy a great one next time!
.... I just thought my reply was fitting based off someone posting a comment like this6. The suspension sucks. When is GM going to finally ditch the transverse leaf spring ? The car hops sideways in mid turn bumps at any speed. Please don't tell me its wheel alignment. My $16K Sentra doesn't do this neither does my 2004 Impala SS.
Over the years I've drove several types of sports cars from Porsche, Shelby, to all years of Corvettes most have that feeling when hitting bumps in turns do to the stiff springs for road racing. Tire noise is not uncommon. Corvette is not a family sport sedan and not going to drive like one. Hope you next car is more fitting to what you are looking for. Hate to hear anyone having that much problem with a car.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
I no longer have my problem, but I remember when I first bought my C5 I was miserable until I figured it out. So again, the guy has a point.

Sounds like most of your problem are from not driving.

IMHO, Beckel was not directly comparing the Sentra and Impala, but rather drawing a satire... more like, "My little sister can lift more weight than you." He has some very valid points to be frustrated about the car and GM.... most of us have been there. For the few fortunate ones who were blessed with a trouble free car or good service departments, you're the lucky ones. It's nice to have someone to help you out (if you do it yourself, then
you )The rest of the folks who learned by trial and error of the many bonehead techs and service people we had to choose from... we know beckel's pain. He was not asking anyone to run out and burn their car... nor was he telling anyone to boycott GM.... this was a simple post where someone vented a continous laundry list of issues he faced.... and rightiously so.
Most of the people bashing him need to re-read the original post and this time try and keep am open mind, while placing yourselves in the other guys shoes.
What happened to ranting without being flamed/punished here?
with whomever said the few noobs, e-thugs and internet tough guys need to sit down. No one needs to be abused by a bunch of pR!cks that worship the car they drive because they think it gets makes them better than someone else....it doesn't. You just give the rest of us a bad name. Good luck to you beckel....

You might as well be asking these guys to cut off their b*lls.
I do have to laugh at all the blind loyalty I see in some of these responses. One person who said something about loving the car, warts and all...
