Default Trunk Mounted 12 CD Changer

My CD cartridge won't eject whenever I slide the door open. A light inside the player goes on and a motor starts to run so there is power but it won't eject. I can't see any stuck CD's inside. I get the feeling that it is broken. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Dave K.

You could try unhooking it from the powersource or simply disconnect the battery for 10 minutes or so...It's said that will fix what ails the CD changer at times...

Or you could ask the folks in the Audio portion of this forum.

As a last ditch effort, a large hammer and a nicer swing comes to mind...

NO!! Not really!!

Good luck!!

The battery was disconnected for more than 10 min.to install a CAGS bypass. Evidently, that didn't fix it becasue the CD player didn't work since I purchased the car about 3 mo. ago.

Slide a credit card sized piece of plastic between the cartridge and the changer. It will release the mag. Then unplug the changer for a few mins and re connect. Then make sure all the cd holders are sliding correctly, then reinstall and try it again.

Does it matter what side to slip the credit card -- top bottom or sides? I can feel the electical plug at the bottom of the changer -- does it just pull straight out? Is it a tight connection?

What will your suggested procedure do -- reset the changer?
Hasw this worked for others?

Thanks,

You may have a stuck cd holder. I can not remember what side release is on, from what I remember it was on the bottom.

The plug, just squeeze and pull.

Unplugging will reset it.
