Default 160 Thermostat

Does any know the process of installing a 160 thermostat in 1999 C5.

How long does it take.... is it hard ..

can this be done at home or does it need to be put in professionally . etc...

any and all help would be great

2 bolts and the hose, get a big container for the fluid; you can do it

Can even use a small container if you are fast enough. I wasn't and was left holding a boltless thermostat housing with the replacement just out of reach. But all-in-all it was easy to replace. Good luck, you can do it!

Yes Sounds like they think you're made of money because you own a vette. You can do it yourself in under a hour.

God really .. GEESS . i hate this . crap .. i get put through

i was told its extremely involved and it takes two hours . which at this shop came to $180.00.


VETTE TAX at its worst..... this aspect is the one and only issue i have with my car.... if i want something done.. all of a sudden likes . $200.00 quick . when it shouldn't be..


Sorry all raging a little here.

i shall try and do it . but if there is anyone in so cal that has done this before .. pm me. and i wil come to you. !!

Sorry, that's not vette tax... that's just a plain and simple snow job...
There's no way it's complex at almost any level.
Maybe one of the pro's on here could tell us what the "book" quotes,
maybe it is 2 hours....I'd still steer clear of your mechs though!!!
