Default 405hp badge recognition!

I was just wondering from info on another thread, how many other Z06 owners get alot of attention drawn to the 405hp bades on the fenders?
I seem to get alot of attention from other cars at stoplights and such,
pointing to the 405hp badge. Pretty cool.

Ive had a couple point over to the emblems, but not a whole lot. Around here 405 is pretty low on the ol totem pole so to speak. Im one of the lower HP cars (Vettes and others)around here thats for sure. People around me have tons of money to throw into their toys. I choose to leave my Z stock and dump my money into my other toys.

They muct have pretty good eyes if they can read that. I wouldn't expect anyone around here knows the significance of that other than perhaps other vette owners.

Ya, the punks usually roll down their windows and look over, the passenger says to the driver " yup, it's a Z06, don't embarass us, remember what happened last time....."

I actually had a vette owner sitting next to me at a stoplight ask me "what's a Z06?" followed by "does that thing really have 405 horsepower?"

Yea the ricers here are normaly saying how the beat one of those... funny is when I get served by rice and I do not enough know I was racing!!! I normaly invite them to the track and show them how quick Vettes are. Today's ricer's grow up into tomorrow Vette brothers and sisters. Good post!

I put the 01' Z06 badges on my car (no HP rating on them,,, just says "Z06"). My car is far from stock so I figured that if its not going to show the correct HP, I don't want it to show any HP rating at all.... My car is a Z06... plain and simple... Most people don't know its an 01' Z06badge anyways.

My cam tells people at stop lights its not stock anyways.

Now if I could get a really nice looking Z06 badge reading 525HP then I might go for that

Marketing - it worked in 1982 as well. I always see people mouthing "cross-fire Injection" at stop lights. You don't see many C3s on the road and fewer have the cross-fire badges; only 1982 for the C3's. Sure sounds fast!

Hi meadowz06 -

I bought my 2002 Z06 in late 2001, so it was one of the first 405 hp Z's running around my area.

Back then, I had quite a few people run up next to me to get close enough to read the badge (not knowing that if it is an electron blue Z, it had to have 405hp as that color was first offered on 2002 models...)

I don't see it happening as much nowadays.

I do still see folks pull up behind me at lights and phonetically mouth the words on my license plate - I love seeing some guys wife/girlfriend lip-synch "ZEEE OH 6" from the passenger seat

I did have two fellows in a big jacked-up four wheel drive pickup speed up next to me last Saturday to get a look at the fender emblem - you can always tell when they are doing that.

best regards -

I kind of laugh at mine 'cause the car is making about 420 hp(117 mph 1/4 in a 3290# car w/driver comes out to 420 hp at the crank).

It is true, they gave the '04 owners a gift as they usually trap a little higher in the 1/4.

I took my fender badges off for the clean look. As far as I can tell the car still gets a tonne of looks.

There staring because then think your car is a 99' or 00' hard top with Z06 wheels added, and rear brake scoop added. They are looking for the sticky tape around the rear brake scoops.

Joking ....

Funny I did this the other day as I was looking at a posers car. It was a white convertable with all kinds of Z06 stuff. The front screens, stick on rear brake ducts, chrome Z wheels. The only thing he did not have yet was the 405 badge on the fender. Saving up I guess.

Yep I agree. Had 2 recently. 1 guy pulled up in a truck to gas up. He asked what kind of gas mileage I get. I told him 18-20 around town going easy and close to 30 driving easy on the higway. He laughed. His answer was Wow, I expected you to say 12-14...

The best one was a good looking woman driving a minivan with her small boy in it. He's asking mom what that car is. She says, "It's a Corvette dear, they are awesome!" and had a big grin on her face when she said it. She asked the same about mileage and was very surprised and almost in disbelief when I told her. She had a late C3 before she had kids and wants another one as soon as they get past the minivan / kid hauling years. She saw the badge and said "Oh my God, does that thing really have 405hp?" Yes ma'am it most certainly does
