Got my Battery cove cover today in the mail. Clear acrylic, painted the back side silver and installed in my car. Total painting and installation about 1 hr and 15 mins. The hour mostly waiting for the paint to dry. Just use those quick dry spray paints since it does not really need a primer unless you're painting the top of the cover. I on the other hand painted the bottom. Here are a couple of pics.
BTW, the Corvette emblem is not attached yet, was trying to see how it's going to turn out. Don't know if I'm putting it because I already have the Corvette emblem on the hood plate as seen on the second pic and cost for the cover $25 from ebay. Paint is about $4 from Murray's.

I bought one a few weeks ago. They fit well, paint easy and do look great. I got my cover from a site on eBay...$25 shipped. It just wasn't worth the time or hassle to chase down the template and plexiglass and then cut it to fit...so I ordered it precut

I thought the battery covers were supposed to be vented?
I thought that too, when I started seeing them, but if you look at the fact that the rubber seals against the hood, which is not vented, it really doesn't matter.
I bought the same one, and painted the bottom black ($ .35 worth of flat black paint). I put my dash placks from the c5/c6 Birthday Bash and Cruise In 7 on it. It looks cool.
The only bad thing, is I broke the tip by the hood support off. You really can't tell, unless you know it was there before.
I wanted mine to fit under the weatherstrip so I trimmed it up some to fit.
Considering cost of material and time and effort to cut it out yourself $25 bucks shipped less painting ain't that bad. I used Duplicolor and it matched up well.
