Hey guys this is my first post but I AM getting a 98-01 C5 Coupe in Sep this yr (I know thats a few months away) But i will be in south america for the next 2 months and when i get back is when i am going to trade my mustang GT in to get one. But my question is prob one you guys have heard 1000 times, what are some inexpensive bolts ons I can do that the vette would respond to nicely? Also whats this Zip Tie mod I keep hearing about? Thanks guys
I found a great exhaust for half the price of a new one... and it was like new when I recieved it. You can find just about anything there, even posta thread for "WTB" (Want to Buy) ...

Good first mods are a nice sounding cat back exhaust system and a new air intake like the Blackwing, Vararam, Stinger, etc. If you want a good appearance mod, consider some new wheels.

Wise move. Then you wouldn't have to sorrry about it when you're gone as well.
The two fastest and least expensive mods that are good bang for the buck mods are a forced air intake and an exhaust. There are many choices and prices vary. There are Vortec Rammer, Calloway Honker, Blackwing, Vararam and many other intakes. They all perform well. Some better than others. The same goes with exhaust, numerous types of exhaust. Some give better performance, some give better performance and good sound. Resonance can be a major problem with some exhausts. You should listen tosome before you buy
If you have internet access while in SA, you can hang around on the forum a while and read different opinions on intakes and exhausts. Feel free to chime in any time with a question.
Yes thats the good thing is that I will have internet access down there so i will be able to get all the questions and info i will need before i buy. But yes those will def. be the first things I do is intake and exhaust (I want one that sounds the deepest). I am also thinking of deleting the cats (I have no clue how many there are my mustang had 4) because there is no smog testing here in oklahoma.
