I just bought a lowrance iway 350c, $318, covers entire country and plays mps through your radio and gives directions through your radio. It won the SEMA show in 2005. Portable and will run 15 hrs on enternal batteries.

I'm a big Eclipse fan, but I really like the way the Z1's lighting matches the C5 interior blue, as well. Hmmmm. Does the Z1 have auto volume level compensation? If so, that may be enough to push me over the edge...
I have the alpine Nav unit that is integrated with the Alpine IVA-D300 color touch screen controller. I have an alpine 12CD changer along with JL Audio speakers, stealthbox and 500W amplifier. Much, much better than the stock stereo. No pictures to post at this time but will if there is interest.
Yes, it did turn out well.
What did you modify? It really doesn't look like you modified it much (unless you look at the red stuff you've got all over it in the working stage pic). It still has the cross bar above the radio...(or most of it anyway).
...and what model Pioneer is it?

The radio opening was enlarged, top to bottom to accomodate the double din Pioneer AVIC -D1 deck.
Notice that the ashtray door is now gone. I moved everythign down inorder to get the space I needed for the radio.
