Trans tunnel drilling
I would like to mount an accessory to the transmission tunnel from inside, passenger side, just under the console bottom edge, through the carpet with some sheet metal screws.
Is this safe ?

Check out the page below which shows some pics of when we pulled my buddy's drivetrain. The ss lines on the driver's side are the brake lines and the black lines are the fuel lines so be careful. The's a pic looking up throgh the shifter access hole that gives you some reference.

Is this installation possibly for a fire extinguisher? I'm also trying to figure out a mounting place for a HALON or FE36, but I don't like the typical front of the seat mount product.

Be careful, there is a main loom that runs back to the rear that goes to tranny, diff, etc. Normally, this is held in place on the torque tube so you should be fine. You can look through my website on the tech page I have tons of pics on there. All your brake lines are on the driver's side.
