My stupid gas pedal - factory - keeps coming off. I put the spring back in and the pin through the holes but the pin works it's way out after a few days. Is there supposed to be some part that holds the pin in place that has been lost or ???
Actually, there is a little groove around the pin that the spring kinda catches in.
Sounds like an excellent excuse to get an aluminum Elite Engineering gas pedal. They have shoulder bolt that screws in instead of just a pin. Real quality piece.
I put in a diff gas pedal to match the brake/clutch on my Z and the new pedal kept slipping off. After it coming loose and re-attaching it about three times, I pulled it out and epoxied the (portion of the spring that lays up against the pedal as well as the pin) in place. Two years later and no problems since (pivots and operates fine).
