Default Changing front brake pads only???

Before I put on my new HRE wheels on my '04 Z06 with 3500 miles I'm going to change the brake pads from the OEM to Hawk HPS. I personally drive mainly on the streets and do not track or race. I just can't stand the excessive brake dust. Is there any reason why I couldn't change only the front pads or should I also change the rears? Actually the rears don't dust hardly at all and I thought with the low mileage I could just replace the fronts and leave the rear OEM pads.

Changing the front pads only on a street application is not a problem, but if you race on a track it may disrupt the braking balance/bias. Let us know how well the Hawk pads stack up against the oem in stopping, noise, and dusting!

I'd do ceramic pads - almost no dust and perfect for street.

Any particular reason why to change them all? Is it because there is too much difference in the pads that will cause a conflict? I thought that with the few miles on the rears that changing the fronts would be OK. I'm not questioning your suggestion, I'm just not clear as to the reason why.

Been there done that. The hawk pads are going to give you MORE dust than the OEMs. Better to go with ceramics.

That's what I talking about, the Hawk HPS ceramics.
Or even better are the Hawk Performance Ceramics.

Best price I've seen are through eBay from PerformancePeddler.com.
Anyone else have any input about only changing the front pads to Hawk HPS or their Performance Plus ceramic pads?

I mis-stated the above information on the pads. I thought thr HPS pads were ceremic and in fact they are not. Therefore I will probably go with the Hawk Performance Plus pads on the front.
