Didn't know you couldn't. Just that there were a lot of ragtop owners that bought the cars for cruising and didn't order the option.

Which generation are you asking about - C4 or C5?

Z51 was available on all model year C5 convertibles, but it could not be ordered in conjunction with the F45 or F55. We ordered our '03 vert with the Z51.

If you're asking about the C4, the folks over in C4 General may be in a better postion to answer your question rather than here in C5 General.

Goony Goo Goo I am talking about 1996 vert. I was curious why it was not avialable on c4 verts. Thanks to everyone who chimed in to tell me you had it on your c5 but the question was why it wasn't available on c4's.

Z51s in the fourth generation have the FE7 heavy duty suspension (with the exception of `96). C4 verts (without the optional hard top) couldn't handle the aggressiveness of the Z51, ZR1 and Z07, so were all were restricted to coupes.

The advancement and design of the C5 and C6 allow it to have a range of suspension options without added support like the C4 verts X frame.

And our question is why do you insist on asking this of the folks here in C5 General rather than over in C4 General where it belongs.
