I got 6 black motorsports for track tires. They are only $100 each from Bob's HoW's.

A set of stock wheels is your best bet(that's what I use my stock wheels for). It's hard to beat the value offered, very light, strong, & not very expensive(& they look cool too).

The stock "wagon" wheels are inexpensive.

I agree. Use your stock wheels for track tires. All these cheap aftermarket wheels are a fair bit heavier than your stock ones. More unsprung weight. You can find used Z06 wheels on here at pretty decent prices. Just look for ones that have curb rash. Or get the aftermarket ones in Black Motorsports or Chromed for the bling on the street and use your stock ones for track. Then you can get cheap wheels and have good track wheels that will hold up.

I use old ZR1 wheels. 11x17 back, 9.5x17 front. 295s fit the front, 315s fit the back.

OEM Grand Sport wheels are light and strong. 17 x 9.5 front and 17 x 11 rears. They work with C4 & C5's.

Cheap AND racing, or cheap AND Corvette usually don't work in same sentence.

I had trouble finding GS offset wheels. Is there a dramatic difference between these and ZR1 offset?

Just off the top of my head, the offset on the ZR-1 wheels is 16mm or about 5/8" per side more than the GS rears. The ZR-1 had wider rear body than the regular C4 cars. The GS used add on fender pieces to keep tire under fender.
