Default Light Question

On my 98 vert, if I try to turn on the parking lights with the fog lights (to use as day time running lights) the head lights pop up although the head lights are not on.
I have seen later model C5s running with parking/foglights on and headlights closed. Is there a trick to it, or do I have to do some rewiring?

That is not normal. You should be able to operate the fogs with the parking lights and the headlamps should stay closed. Not sure if your the original owner, but someone may have done some rewiring for you.
What happens when you start by leaving the fogs off, then moving the light stalk to the first position (parking lamps only) then turning on the fog lamps ?

Sounds as if a previous owner may have disabled the DRL. There are several ways to do this. Check to see if either of these is the case and if so, reverse the procedure:

Good luck.
