The auto dim inside mirror is different than the non auto dim one, and the heated outside mirrors are different from the non heated ones - I fear this is not the answer you were looking for though....

You can replace the non auto dim mirror with one that does dim, but I suspect replacing non heated mirrors with heated ones is a tougher upgrade - you'd have to add switches to turn them on and off, as well as supply the mirrors with power for the heaters.

I am not sure I have seen an upgrade to the outside mirror that has both heat and auto dim

i should have been more clear ..

i have both features on my car (heated/auto-dim) .. but i need to replace the actual mirror piece as mine broke, i dont want to replace the entire housing (paint issues and so forth) just the mirror itself .. i found a thread about tearing into the mirror and whatnot but i need to know if it's one part number as fred beans only seems to have one part listed ..

thanks.

OK, now I see what you're looking for. In my parts catalog I see the following pns listed for just the driver's side mirror glass - 12530716 (LH, 97 - 02) and 12455610 (LH, 01-02). The 2nd pn shows for RPO DD0, which I believe is the autodim one, while the 1st one shows for RPO DL8, which I think is the heated version - were they mutually exclusive options?

no, i dont believe so .. i think if it's an auto-dim it's heated as well because you had to get the upgraded display module (at least before 02?) in order to get the heated .. at least that what i was told.

thanks for your help.

edit: i just checked and those numbers are for the entire assembly. thanks tho. .. i'm just going to call fred beans and try ordering the part i found on his website.

If you have to replace your outside mirror anyway, have you considered upgrading to the Muth mirrors with the imbedded turn signal chevrons? They're available both heated and non-heated. It's a great mod. I upgraded mine last winter and I really like them.

If interested, check their website: http://www.kwmuth.com/
