I just got the PCM that I had PCMSFORLESS.com reprogram for me installed in my 98 coupe...........all I can say is WOW! I have a few modifications (Halltech, Corsa indy and Bassani X pipe), but the car never seemd to run really strong --especially off the line.
Now, the car runs so strong it is amazing and they firmed up the shifts on the A4 perfectly ---- as soft as stock under part throttle and a monster when getting on it harder.....chirps second gear easily now, and it never did before...idles smoother too. Grabs revs throughout the range (raised redline about 500 RPM too) very quickly.......
I would highly recommend this......its a fifteen minute plug and play once you get the right front wheelwell liner out........(and remember your radio code for when you plug the battery back in...)
PCMforless is a good company.. Bryan is a good guy to deal with and is very knowledgable. I have used him in the past (3 years ago). My 2001 LS1 Camaro SS with a cam, headers, gears, etc. etc. etc..... It made really "good" power and nice drivability. It made more power with a smaller cam than a lot of other places I have seen online. They really took care of me and had excellent customer service. Another good friend of mine had an older LT1 car as well with a cam, it ran great and made good power too.
It is a good way if you don't have a professional to do it locally. Many places around the country do not have LS1 tuners. It's better than trying to "home tune" it yourself or by using a crappy hypertech or a predator. I have to say though, the best way is a local person who will spend the time and has the experience to deal with each situation. It's well worth the $ spent.
That was my situation, there is no one I could find in the Pacific NW with a dyno and the knowledge to program the PCM.
I agree that Bryan's customer service is excellent, as he patiently answered all of my questions about emissions and modifications before I sent him my PCM.........customer service says it all for me --- I am willing to pay more if I have been "sold" a product and have confidence in the requested results...both of which applied in this case........
